How will the Election impact upon PPP/PFI?

Which party willl chose to support PFI for major infrastructure projects and which will chose to get rid altogether?

Whatever the manifestos may say, there will be a pressure to reduce the budget deficit, but is that really about capital spending? Any government will recognise that investment in infrastructure cannot be switched off and cancellation of individual projects will inevitably collide with back-bench lobbying.
Making savings on existing deal (another theme) sounds good but means reducing the value of business in the hands of (for example) FM providers -a round about way of shrinking the overall economy. And finally, we may see some new terminology alongside a few deck chairs being moved, all designed to give an appearance of change. So whilst the rhetoric may differ, I am not convinced there is much difference in the forecast for PFI/PPP. Politicians like building things and unemployment is generally a "bad thing".
