hub project get funding boost

SFT releases £13m of funding for first Scottish hub projects

The first tranche of hub initiative projects, valued at more than £130m, have been awarded start-up funding totalling £13bn by the Scottish Futures Trust.

The hub initiative, led nationally and supported locally by the Scottish Futures Trust, aims to deliver new community infrastructure worth more than £1bn over the next ten years.

hub brings community partners, such as health boards and local authorities, together with a private sector development partner and is a catalyst towards increased joint working and the sharing of services.

Barry White, Scottish Futures Chief Executive, said: "hub will provide excellent value for money as organisations across Scotland seek to improve their local infrastructure and deliver better public services.

"Similar initiatives elsewhere have led to increased public use of facilities, increased take up of services and high levels of satisfaction among users. I'm delighted that the first projects, in what I am confident will be a substantial pipeline, are ready to proceed and I look forward to seeing the early project from the pipeline begin construction later this year."
