Street lighting PFI bidder deselected

Oldham and Rochdale Council have chosen to deselect the preferred bidder for their jointly procured street lighting project.

Community Lighting Partnership (CLP), a consortium of Eon, Land Securities and Pell Frischcmann was chosen in April 2009 as the preferred bidder.

CLP will now be invited to resubmit a bid along with Scottish Southern Electric who missed out on selection when the preferred bidder was announced.

According to press reports, the decision was taken after the councils became frustrated over the reluctance of CLP to take the project to financial close.
