Bidding begins for Hounslow roads
The London Borough of Hounslow is now inviting companies to bid for their £267m highways maintenance Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
The streets of Hounslow are to benefit from highways maintenance services which will include maintenance to carriageways and footpaths, streetlights, traffic signals, bridges and graffiti removal.
Between three and six contractors will be invited to tender for the contract which will be run over the course of 30- years between June 2012 and June 2042.
Hounslow is one of three nationwide councils to benefit from the governments £1.3bn programme to improve local roads and the only council in London to be included.
Interested firms have until 15th January to submit their pre-qualification questionnaire.
